Google Doodle Vs. Nobel Prize

I was reading Time's article that started "Google’s homepage doodle today features ..." and a thought struck me. Being displayed on Google homepage gives huge visibility. For a whole day people all over the world saw it and clicked through to read about the person celebrated by it.
Nobel Prize winners also show up in the news only once, general public will never see them again. It seems the Google's homepage makes a person as recognizable as winning the Nobel Prize. And it makes the Google artist as powerful and influential as the whole Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
